Chiropractic the McTimoney Way
What is Chiropractic, and How Does it Work?
Chiropractic is a straight forward method of adjusting the bones of your body to improve the alignment of your skeleton. In the clinic, Chiropractic is usually combined with methods of soft-tissue manipulation to help release tight muscles which might be distorting posture or limiting movement. Additionally, Corrective Exercise is often needed to activate and strengthen any muscles not adequately supporting posture and movement. The purpose of chiropractic care and these supporting methods (Soft-Tissue Release, Corrective Exercise and Joint Mobilisation) is to realign and rebalance your body to relieve pain and discomfort, and increase mobility.
A misalignment of the joints can occur for many reasons; some of the most common are incorrect lifting, car or sporting accidents, falls, stress, and poor posture. These can lead to pain, numbness, pins and needles, or restricted mobility.

The McTimoney Method
The McTimoney method of chiropractic was developed by the late John McTimoney over 50 years ago. The McTimoney method is recognised as being a gentle, precise, whole body approach to chiropractic care. McTimoney chiropractors strive for optimal health by treating the entire person and not just the area that pains you. It is taught only at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon, near Oxford, UK. The McTimoney Chiropractor is trained to correct misalignments using quick, gentle and accurate adjustments which ensure an experience of maximum comfort. The gentle nature of the McTimoney method makes it especially suitable for people of all ages.
