McTimoney Chiropractic Treatment at Canary Wharf
The McTimoney way of Chiropractic treatment is a gentle (low-force) method of adjusting the skeleton with the aim of improving alignment. McTimoney Chiropractic may help with: back, neck and shoulder problems; muscle aches and, discomfort; sports injuries; and, stiffness and pain in joints.
The skeleton and its joints can become misaligned for many reasons. Some people may be born with poor alignment and other misalignment may be caused by:- poor posture, falls, incorrect lifting, stress, plus car or sporting accidents. Sometimes these may cause restricted mobility, pain, numbness and perhaps pins and needles.
The John McTimoney (1914-1980) developed the gentle, precise, whole-body approach of McTimoney Chiropractic over 50 years ago. McTimoney Chiropractors work for optimal health through treating the entire person and not just the area that is causing pain.
The area in pain is often seen as being the problem. More often than not, it is the “victim” of something happening elsewhere in the body. That is the place in pain is being “overloaded” by something which is happening elsewhere. McTimoney Chiropractic is only taught in Abingdon, near Oxford, at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. The McTimoney Chiropractor is trained to correct misalignments using quick, gentle and accurate adjustments which allow the patient to experience maximum comfort during treatment. The gentle, low-force nature of the McTimoney Technique means it can be used with both very young and very old patients.
Chiropractor Andrew Hunter graduated from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in 2002. Andrew has been practicing and registered with the General Chiropractic Council since then. Andrew uses the McTimoney method of Chiropractic to focus on patient’s skeletal alignment. Additionally, while working on alignment, Andrew also uses various methods of soft-tissue release.
Andrew shows patients how their posture and habits of movement can contribute to back pain. The control and activation of the muscular system, and posture, may also be improved by means of specific exercises. Andrew’s treatment is based on “The Three Rs”: low-force skeletal “Realignment” with McTimoney; supported by soft tissue “Release”; and, specific exercise for muscular “Rectivation”. The “Three Rs” are the foundation for anyone wishing to improve their musculoskeletal health.
